We tried a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activity where a challenge was presented to the students. They were asked to build a fox trap using the materials provided. It had to trap a stuffed fox and they had to use a gingerbread man for bait.
The students got right to work. This involves trial and error, creativity and partnership skills. Some traps worked, some didn't. The discussion afterwards was most valuable. What worked... what didn't, how would you do it differently next time...I was impressed with their thinking. They loved the challenge and had so much fun!
